VirtualTrax Program Video Finale Video with NYS Youth Clubhouses

Road Recovery presents the VirtualTrax Program Video Finale involving 6 Youth Clubhouses from across New York State. Our theme during the Summer Program Cycle has been ATTITUDES and BALANCE. Watch this collection of creative works by our amazing young people made possible through our non-profit’s Creative Staff Mentors from the entertainment industry engaging Youth Clubhouses operating under the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS). The statewide Youth Clubhouses provide a community-based, non-clinical setting for promoting long-term recovery through skill-building, recreation, education, wellness, evidence-based prevention programs, and other social activities. VirtualTrax is supported by a grant ‘Category 5: Statewide and Regional Mentoring Initiative for Youth Impacted by Opioids and Drug Addiction’ from the Department of Justice (DoJ) / Office of Justice Programs (OJP) / Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP).

During this Covid-19 pandemic when our youth are at higher risk of alcohol/substance abuse and risky behavior, Road Recovery developed mitigating strategies with our technology partners to build customized Cisco Webex virtual webcasting suites. Road Recovery’s action-driven VirtualTrax Program was created to give our amazing youth and young adults A VOICE TO BE HEARD when they find themselves stuck in isolation and cut off from their support networks.

Road Recovery’s Creative Staff Mentors, each Youth Clubhouse staff member and young participants all work TOGETHER towards achieving set goals of completing the process of creating, planning, and producing a series of short video clips shared each week across several social media platforms. These creative posts help to provide ongoing community outreach and awareness of Youth Clubhouse opportunities and activities, while validating the accomplishments of young participants engaging VirtualTrax Programs. This video chronicles the story of VirtualTrax and highlights creative works by young people engaging the following Youth Clubhouses: Creative Connections Clubhouse (Amsterdam), Horizons Youth Clubhouse (Massena), Youth Clubhouses of Columbia-Greene Counties (Catskill and Hudson), TC Commons (Elmira), and Elmcor Youth Clubhouse (Queens).
