“Rejoicing in Recovery” – Celebrating the Power and Promise of Recovery

WHAT:
In celebration of Recovery Month, the Faith Leaders Coalition will conduct “Rejoicing in Recovery” at Sparks of Hope Recovery Support Center, 107 Main St. in Hamburg, on Saturday, September 10, 2022, from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

This fair and picnic will celebrate and promote prevention resources, celebrate the power and promise of recovery by providing education to increase awareness of the many available resources and how to access such resources and reduce the stigma and shame associated with substance use, addiction, and recovery.

There will be music, entertainment, food, and refreshments for the whole family. Speakers will share the various pathways one can take in recovery and their lived experiences in recovery. Informational tables from several organizations will provide support and resources to the attendees.

“Addiction is a public health issue that affects everyone in our community. The availability and access to adequate resources and support are essential for sustained recovery. Recovery is possible for everyone and is about reclaiming a meaningful life.” Tim Bax, IHNO Outreach Coordinator.

The following recovery support services and organizations will be onsite and available: Sparks of Hope Recovery Support Center, In His Name Outreach Counseling & Recovery Services (IHNO), Friends of Recovery-New York (FOR-NY), Friends of Recovery-Greater Erie (FOR-GE), the Erie County Opiate Epidemic Task Force, Independent Living Addict 2 Addict and Family 2 Family Programs of Erie and Niagara Counties, Western NY United Against Drug & Alcohol Abuse, Save the Michaels of the World, Evergreen Health, BestSelf Behavioral Health, Kids Escaping Drugs, Rebecca Rose and J.A. Hauser Sobriety Services, the Buffalo Police Dept. Behavioral Health Team and other organizations. Narcan training and other resources will be available from the Task Force.
