Happening this September in Portland, Oregon, “Recovery is Beautiful” is a day for free makeovers, resources, and fun for the people we serve to celebrate their success in recovery and help them feel empowered, confident, and beautiful — inside and out.
We are partnering with award-winning hairstylist Allie Martinez, the wonderful teachers and students at Summit Salon Academy, and several more fantastic local hair stylists, barbers, makeup artists, and personal stylists. Together, our community partners provide an opportunity for self-care and self-love for up to 50 MHAAO peers who rarely have access to these types of services or experiences.
We understand how important hygiene is for one’s mental health and hope to reinstill people’s confidence as they go through various stages of recovery. This event is closed to the public as we manage growth within the organization and the peer community.
