The Marion County Heroin/Opioid Task Force was established in 2017 as requested by City of Ocala Mayor Kent Guinn. Goal was and still is to reduce the number of overdose deaths. The key community partners involved in the Heroin/Opioid Task Force are: 5th Judicial Circuit of Marion County, Advent Hospital, Congressman Daniel Webster, Department of Children & Families, Florida Department of Health of Marion County, Hand in Hand, Healthy Start, Kids Central, LifeStream, LSF Health Systems, Marion County Fire Rescue, Marion County Sheriff’s Department, Ocala Consulting & Prevention, Ocala Fire Rescue, Ocala Police Department, ORCA, Perspectives, Phoenix House, Picking Up the Pieces, QuitDoc, Realizing Recovery, Suwannee River Area Health Education Center, The Centers, The Guest House, The Pearl Project, The Refuge, Zero Hour Life, and many other invested partners.
